The science of computing extends far beyond hardware and software questions. HIECT computer science majors understand the theories and concepts behind the technology, and there's almost no limit to the ways in which this broad-based knowledge can be adapted. The computer science major and minor programs are designed to provide a solid basis in the principles of the discipline combined with practical experience in software systems design, implementation and analysis.
 

  Infrastructure 
Computing facilities available to the students in the program are extensive. All students are provided with Internet facility. Computer based communication resources are used extensively within the program to foster a sense of community and facilitate communication among students and faculty beyond the classroom. The department maintains an extensive network of high-end personal computers, workstations, and servers.

  Hardware  
The laboratory spans around 2800 sqft and has full-fledged Servers with the configuration of IBM Netfinity x 235 Series 1* Xeon 1.8 GHz Client Systems with the configuration of IBM Net vista A22P Model C5A Intel Pentium 4 @1.8 GHz Speed. The devices include Laser Printer with Digital copier and Stand alone printers. The components are backed with online UPS of power capacity up to 50KVA. The multimedia kit including web cameras and headphones are also provided.

   Networking 
The inter connectivity of the systems is done with a number of 24 port high-speed switches and the network cable of latest technology. Local chats are also entertained with these connectivity and multimedia devices.

  Course Curriculum 
                         The curriculum includes both high end software languages and the concepts about the core technologies. Management studies for making a efficient professional student are also included in the course curriculum. Specialized training are given for implementing and solving the problems related to concepts.
