The taught M.Sc Electronics addresses the rapidly
advancing areas embedded systems, VLSI, DSP and integration of mobile and
miniature computing platforms that utilize ever-proliferating wireless networks.
Considering the tremendous growth in the field of electronics various upgrades
has been in the lab equipments and also in our syllabus.
Labs & Other Facilities
The department of electronics has spacious lab with
excellent infrastructure and most modern equipments to enhance the practical
skills of the students. The following labs are equipped with high configuration
systems with Intel PIVCPU2.93 GHz, 512 RAM, 80 GB HDD, capable of running high
end softwares for VLSI and DSP.
Micro processor (8085) and micro controllers (8051) labs:
This lab is made in the 1st and 2nd semester.
Interface boards like traffic control, DAC, ADC, Serial communication, Stepped
motor, 8255 interface, 7Segment Display, Hex Keyboard, speed control of DC
motor, water level controller, temperature control and LCD display are made use
of. More interface boards than that is necessary is provided so that, the
students get an exposure not only in the experiments included in the practical
but also in their fields. Our IC lab is equipped with modern scientific
equipments 30V, 3A dual power supply, 10 MHz modulation function pulse
generator, low distortion audio generator etc.
Embedded system design lab:
We make use of PIC embedded trainer Microchip
(pic161877) and MP lab for simulation and download purpose. For DSP and VLSI
design lab we make use of VLSI trainer based on SPARTAN and COOLRUNNER. For DSP
Lab we use DSP kits based on the TMS320c5416 series. Other than these kits, the
lab is also equipped with PIC and universal programmers in order to facilitate
project developing.
Constant upgrades are being made in the LAB fro the
welfare of the students, CPLD and FPGA kits from other companies such as ALTERA
are also being ordered so that the students will get an exposure in various
fields
